Plastic Sector Continues to Grow ...

In the first quarter of 2017, the plastic industry shrunk domestic consumption. According to the report prepared by PAGEV, the sector is in January-March period amounting to 2.3 million tons with an increase of 14 percent, and an increase of 11 percent on a value basis to produce products worth $ 8.8 billion. 2.1 million tonnes of this production is automotive, packaging, construction and electronics, as well as by consumers in the domestic market. The plastics sector used 72.9 percent of the production capacity. The countries where the plastics industry exports most plastic goods in the January-March period are; Iraq, Germany, Israel, England and France. Plastic kitchen products were the sub-sector that made the biggest increase in exports with an increase of 11 percent.
